Light verticals, quick marks, and a strict grid create three studies in contrast.
Pale vertical lines rise against a black field. Short black marks sit across a cream ground. A black grid divides the third cream composition. The pale strokes sit against one dark ground, then the sequence turns to black marks and a grid on cream. Each panel changes the balance between line and open space without adding another subject.
The black-and-cream palette can sit above a dark-wall desk or against a pale wall. Room photographs show the trio over a work surface and beside a cream chair.
